All of these phrases define the Gainesville Ballet Theatre today. Since its founding in 1973, the company has shaped the lives of hundreds of dancers while providing truly magical gifts to the community. Founded by Joni Messler, owner and director of Joni Messler Studio of Dance. The Gainesville Ballet Theatre is a non-profit regional ballet company.

The young male and female dancers of the GBT are unique talents, each of whom has completed years of professional training in preparation for their demanding roles in Gainesville 's most respected ballet company.

Several of our dancers study year-round, accepting prestigious scholarships with ballet schools and companies across the nation, and many former members have gone on to fulfilling careers in the dance world.

GBT performs classical and contemporary ballet, from full length ballets to a widely varied repertoire. Our productions regularly feature works by guest choreographers in many different styles of dance.
